G,day Penny here is an up date as I said. I would cut back the needles this week well here they are cut back.
This I Find is the same as the summer needle pruning of other pines. Hope this helps in some way. Pup

Wow! That IS a big difference, Pup.
When I have the time.......... I thought I'd thin out a lot of the branches at the top to produce more growth in the branches at the bottom. I haven't even had time to chose a front yet, but I've left a long stub at the top to tie a new leader to. I couldn't pass them up at $15 each. Thanks for posting photos and info on yours.
