I purchased a Ceratopetalum gummiferum, Albury’s Red in January this year. Nostalgic purchase, they grew wild where I grew up.
As I'm going to cut it back heavily in spring, I applied some layers to the bits that are going to see what happened. Looks to be callousing up well with a white area that could be the new roots starting
New growth and it looks set to flower.
New roots callous

Re: Ceratopetalum gummiferum, Albury’s Red
So far, so good.
It withstood a reported -8Ca few nights ago and a few WHITE frosts since with no problems in the protected shade-house despite having what looks to be sappy young growth.
Layers are progressing slowly, as expected in this cold climate at this time of year, it has even put out flower buds on both the branches left, and those with layers on them. It has also shot new growth from below the layer locations so shows promise.
I have it in mind to cut back to quite a small plant, eventually (got to remain mindful of what I can lift in future )
