Nice work Tim. The Thicket is looking good in the new pot. Also isn't it a bit early for photos next year since the comp ends mid 2023? You'll rob yourself 12 months of development?
Yes you are right I absolutely will rob myself of 9-12 months of growing, but with how I want to submit the final photos I also will get that entire growing season too and it will all work out in the wash I hope
Sounds like your playing the strategy game May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor

That really is a super nice pot ... although the previous one wasn't too bad either, but there is nice and then there is NICE...
Even though both are the same kiln, the difference between the two really is night and day in quality terms. I'm doing some research into the history of it at the moment but i won't say more without confirmations, I don’t want to be making false claims.
My plan has been to do 4 final photos, one for each season the group goes through and as such the winter one should be submitted this weekend once I give the group a clean up and some touches.
Early on I decided that long essays weren’t my thing, so to satisfy MJL’s written portion I decided each photo will have a short accompanying haiku of questionable quality and adherence to the rules of haiku
So I will start with Winter soon, Spring in a few month’s time, Summer next year and finishing with Autumn before the competition end (hopefully I get some colour by then!)
Now we’re talking Tim. This is exactly the spirit in which I started this competition. This is a lovely setting - set of with some creative words. All thought provoking - greats stuff and thanks for playing along.
I don’t suppose you have a better photo Tim?
The composition itself looks great, but not sure the quality of your photo provides enough detail to really do it justice… I do like your concept though and the thought behind it.

I'll have a think on how i can do it better, lighting is a real issue in my house and the pot is the best part of 70cm long so getting it into any single photo is a PITA
Sorry Tim, I think I wasn’t clear.
The photo itself (composition) is good, the actually detail/quality of the photo itself is low so when you zoom etc there is no detail. I meant just a better quality version of the same image… up the pixels a little!
Spring final photo(s) Still really struggling to photograph it in an acceptable way, hence the lighting so i've done a couple of photos. green stones to insinuate a river flowing again after freezing winter

Time for the summer final photo submission, multiple angles this time to try to help capture it a bit better. Again my uploads look the wrong way around but when you click on the image the are the right way up
