Collected melaleuca

Post by DaveZ »

This is a little Melaleuca I collected from a riverbank a couple years ago. I've played with wiring branches down in typical bonsai style, but I don't think that's the way I'll ultimately go. Still playing with a few things to work out what I'm doing with this one. Just happy to see it recovered and growing well again.

This little guy has been putting on some good growth, but I had still been at a loss as to what I could do with it.

Decided today was the day that a decision had to be made, so I pulled it out of the pot, had a scratch around under the soil surface, tilted it this way and that, couldn't really find anything appealing. Then I laid it right over and fell in love. I think this is now the future for this tree. I like it anyway.

Not the most recent photo, but this is pretty much where the tree is at the moment. I'm liking this one more and more as it develops.

Coming along very nicely. Love the bark on these. The texture of the pot is really in keeping with the plant that it is "framing". I look forward to seeing where this one goes in the future.
