Bohdi the Hokkeido elm is a natural drawf as far as leaves go I do not defoliate my elms as they reduce well them selves mind you I have never worked with campestris and procera ( English elm ) again the ugly head of common names rear's.bodhidharma wrote:An excellent job of reducing leaf size Pup. I am still trying to fatten my branches and have not bothered with the foliage yet. To get that reduction you must have to defoliate 2-3 times per growing season or has the tree responded to previous work and doing it on its own.
When are ya coming to WA I might have some cuttings soonbodhidharma wrote:Hmmm!!!A very desirable Elm indeed. I have known of their existence but have never seen one. Anybody out there have one for sale
