Hi Penny

I am aiming for 26 March till 1 April 2018.
This of course will depend upon approvals.

I have a brilliant artist lined up already, and there may be a little surprise to add.

I definitely have bigger and better plans than this year.

Stay tuned.

Cheers
Leigh

Thanks very much to everyone who came to be involved in Bonsai Week 2017.
I have had such wonderful feedback from so many people who attended the many events during the week.

Here are some figures on attendance for the week:

Daily Bonsai Demonstrations = 173
Daily Bonsai Tours = 138
Pottery Exhibition = 836
Workshop Participants = 30
Workshop Observers = 75
Friday Presentation = 111
Gala Cocktail Event = 105

Total attendees = 1468 people

The Collection display also had 3992 visitors for the week.

For those that were able to attend, please share your experience and what you may have learned with your friends, families and bonsai communities.
Bonsai Week is all about sharing this unique art with not only ourselves as a bonsai community, but also bringing exposure of the art to the wider public.

Best regards

Thanks Leigh. I'll mark it up on my calendar.
Those attendance figures and visitors' numbers are really impressive.

Hi Leigh,
Congratulations to you and all who helped to make this such a great event. I wasn't able to get there myself but will try to organize my schedule so I can attend next year. Once again congratulations.

Regards Ray

Once again, after seeing the success of this Bonsai Week expressed in numbers, congratulations to Leigh. There is no doubt that you have a sensitive finger on the world's bonsai pulse, Leigh! Getting Tony Tickle here this year proves it, and, as you told Penny:
"I have a brilliant artist lined up already" (for Bonsai Week 2018), "and there may be a little surprise to add.

I definitely have bigger and better plans than this year."
We can't wait!!!
But whoever it is, he (she? doubtful...) will have a pair of very big shoes waiting to step in. The feedback I got from participants in the workshops was really super, with one participant in the Masterclass, himself a very experienced bonsai grower, telling me: "It was GOOD, very good, I was impressed". Everyone worked hard, by the sound of it, but none worked harder than Tony himself.

Any chance of another Pot Exhibition, showing the newest creations of Australian potters?? I can't stand the thought of not seeing it again. Thanks for it, Pat, once more.

And also thanks to Ken, Pat and Watto for the great photos!

Lisa

Thanks Lisa, I appreciate and value your feedback.

Yes, Pat and all of the other potters did such a fine job with their exhibition, they will most definitely be invited back to showcase their wonderful skills and creations next year.
I hope to take all of the great feedback we have had to make 2018 even bigger and better than 2017.

Cheers
Leigh

Can anyone tell me who made (i) the grey pot with the koi and (ii) the smaller square pots that look like they have been hewn from a granite block.

Thanks.
