Hello Craig,
You elm in looking good mate.
It's hard to tell in the photos, but is that an approach graft (lower right) on the nebari?
I like the direction you have taken with this tree.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Craig, an usual broom style but I like it. No rotting, that's good. You've done a great job and thanks for keeping us updated. Onya!

, yes it's an approach graft using a thin seedling. The dead section is a piece of carved wood which matches up to fit the hole and the plan is for the seedling to thicken and join it all together. The seedling/approach has taken already to the main trunk (thank god) , .
You probly can't see it but the root at left front has been split because it was too fat for the tree, it looked wrong. the split is starting to heal now and will start to look better in a couple of years.
Branches are coming on nicely so next year i may begin with some ramification, which is very hard on a tree only 280mm high, it is a tree that has the ability to both make me smile and cry at the same time
I am also thinking of putting the tree into the pot i just recently bought from you Paul,

Thankyou witchstreet, much appreciated mate

Thanks Han

,
Thanks Mrs Pup and Mr Pup for the pic,
This is the first time the tree has been displayed outside my yard..,as can be seen the front graft didn't take so i'm done trying to mend the hole, i gave it a fair chance but it wouldn't play ball. The hole has actually healed by around half the original size over the last 20mths , so it's not so in your face now.
This was the first time i have dressed a tree with moss and the difference it made was amazing.
Thanks to the club for critiquing the tree and all the members who spoke to me about it ,much appreciated,

Hi Craig,
Bring her over East to my place and she'll colour and drop them in a flash. Good luck bringing her back, you might have to leave her behind with me thanks to those killjoys in AQIS
Cheers,
Mojo
