Its been 18 odd months so as you can see it doesn't take long for me to make up my mind ha ha ha.
Following all the advice provided, which I do sincerly appreciate, I decided on:
1) semi-cascade is the prefered style
2) the top branch should be removed
3) I needed to made the foliage "tighter"
4) fertilize more for increased flowers and fruit
5) the old back is now the new front

The result of those decisions is shown below, and again I would welcome your input.

Pyracantha are very cool tree's Watto.

I like what you have done here and I think the recent changes are for the better...
Looks great in full fruit and the size of the berries adds a great perspective.

Are there really more berries on that than leaves? Great crop, thanks for posting.

The number of berries were quite plentiful, and now I have trimmed them all off it looks a bit bare. I will be interested in seeing if the crop is as good next season.

Well the re-pot went ahead and it is now in a decent Chinese pot. I have continued to "tighten" the foliage and also continued with the fertilizer program. 2015 wasn't as good as the previous two years for fruit but it is still OK. This photo was taken today. A bit more refinement in the overall shape for next year and then we will see how we go from there.

Great looking tree. loosing the top branch and bringing the foliage closer has definitely improved the tree.

Lovely display Watto you must be happy with that. a little sparser foliage is good as it can provide depth to the tree

Why have i not seen this thread before! Great future for this tree with ramification Watto. I dont know how you keep the berries though. As soon as mine berry the birds get them, its like they know. Do you protect yours?
