Figs can look a bit different from tree to tree even though its the same variety. Its just the way the seeds sprout that some seedlings may look a bit different. Plant a tray of any fig seeds and I guarantee some will look slightly different when growing from the same fruit ! The fact that you live in northern N.S.W made me think its the Qld variety.
