im very happy with how this tree is progressing it has nice roots as well. i wont get it in at shohin height but it will be not to far above it.

Looks like some good summer candles, you've got a lot of needle pulling ahead of you...
I am always amazed at how different areas around Australia can have such different decandling times. I had all the large trees done by the end of Nov, but have had much the same growth (needle size).
Seems like that cascade may be a particularly vigourous tree, maybe try giving it a few extra weeks spring growth next season, also did you remove fertiliser after decandling?
