I have 3 of these but they are only small seedlings at the moment. There was an amazing one at the SA Bonsai show last spring.
I want to place a bid but i live in Adelaide and the terms state that "This Item will not ship outside of Victoria"
*cries*

What was the current highest bid? :D
All these guys quoting values, upsets the genuine bidders who desperately want a Peppercorn Tree
Nice Tree! I've got 150 Peppercorns but this one is worth $1500.00 plus shipping. I would buy it but I have too many
But seriously, what was the current highest bid? :D

I wholeheartedly agree with the comment on the peppercon Bonsais on display in Adelaide last May.
One of them was carrying flowers and peppercorn seeds. I spoke with the owner who has a few private spots where he can dig them. Yes, you guessed it, we went on a dig and got a few - there were heaps available!(secret bonsai place)
The Yamadori Peppercorns travelled well on the trip back to Sydney, I gave one to a friend at TSB, the wife spirited one away from me, and the one left for me carked it
However I was wrapped in the presentation of the two trees in Adelaide, they were great! I took photos and will attach one as soon as I can fathom the photo attachment procedure.

According to a statement on another thread, bonsai people don't have secrets from each other so no secret bonsai places.
I'd love another Peppercorn tree too, but I'm in NSW.
Penny.

I didn't think they liked root disturbance, so are not often collected.

At $61AUD, it is a steal (and at that price, it makes my time and effort worth approximately $2 per annum... :| ).

Thanks.

Honest Fly, The Good Buy Guy.[/quote]

At least we have the pleasure of being over here and not over paid not like some.
As I live in West Australia they wont let me have it.
I would agree with Dave if you want a good tree start with good Stock, I had a battle on the weekend trying to convince beginners, and intermediate to buy decent stock.
Not quantity. I paid $30-00 for the piece I turned into a half decent Shohin tree in 1hour and 10 minuets.
So those that can should BID. Bounce to $90-- 00 at least ;)

> The Vendor reserves the right to alter or amend the 'Auction Terms and Conditions' at any time during the Auction process. The Vendor agrees that if any alteration or amendment is made to the 'Auction Terms and Conditions', it will be announced publicly within the Auction Thread, at which time all Bidders will be allowed the opportunity to withdraw their current bid.
Gday folks!

It looks like the Vendor is moving the goal posts...

Given the interest from interstate, I have amended the Condition relating to shipping. The item about shipping now reads:
> It is up to the Winning Party to cover all transportation and packaging costs for the delivery of the Auction Item. The transportation method will be agreed upon by the Vendor and the Winning Party, and will be as reasonably priced as practicable. [EDIT] (This Item will not ship outside of Victoria.) The vendor would prefer to ship within Victoria, but will ship interstate only if the Winning Bidder can supply documentary evidence that importing of the Auction Item is permitted within their State or Territory. The Vendor assumes no liability if the Auction Item is seized by the relevant authorities in the Winning Bidder's State or Territory.[/EDIT]
As I have changed the rules, I am offering all Bidders the opportunity to withdraw their current bids. If you have bid on this Item and wish to reconsider, please post in this thread.

Thanks all, and happy bidding!!!

Fly.

Do I hear 90?

PS: Ketutg - I trust that you have read all the Terms and Conditions of the auction, and that it would be legal for the Vendor to transport the Auction Item into your State or Territory. :!:

Gday folks!

As the Current High Bidder is in SA, I thought I'd do some digging for info pertaining to the transportation of plants into that State. I do not know what the laws are currently, but it seems that new legislation is to be enacted in July 2009. Please read the following:

Thanks.

PS: The Bidding stands at $86AUD!!!

I'll swap you a large oval pot for it and we each pay our own freight. If you are interested I'll post a photo and measurements.
Penny.
