Thanks Watto, nice picture. Bit hard to tell mine yet, still quite small with no flowers or fruit. Although the leaves seem narrower than the ones on yours. Will take a picture and upload shortly.
Good advice though about collecting the fruit. Until I'm certain which species I have, I might do the same.

I was at the nursary today and took some photos of the firethorn in question Sorry, it is ruby mound, i was also told it is more of a rambler and not upright,
There was a bonsai starter from Ray Nesci.

My Firethorn is only a little over a year old from when I dug it, but alas, have not seen flower nor fruit, this tree has worked with me very well so am happy at present.

Nice work Mick. As you can see from the small one I picked up, it still has a long way to go before I can develop much from it. I guess that's half the fun though right.

Sorry no I'd tips, I'm no good at that, but i do know there is not many variety out there that at able to be sold.
A tip I will give you is get lots of movement down low early, these plants tend to grow straight.
