Howdy need to chop it been looking at it to day has a great base from one side but has some revers taper from the main trunk just above the green line. Between the red arrows is 90cm anyway thinking at chopping at the green lines then use the main trunk as the main part of the design with a bit of carving. From there ill let it shoot like crazy the full length of the base an in the end having multiple trunks forming the raft design. Its tilted up a bit right now but will lay it flatter when in going to hang a few pots to grow some roots.
Any ideas people have be great to here them

If you do decide to chop at the green bits, then I think I might see a smaller tree, with a bit of flare and some pleasant movement, if you cut for the base around the red line. Or even at the next fork up might get you something. Hard to tell for sure from the pics, thought I would throw it out there anyway.

Well got the saw out today an did some choppn will be a good tree in a few yrs going for a raft style tree with 10-20 trunks the base will be 90cm wide at ground level have placed some pots to get roots started it did have roots further out but was over 1m wide so decided to reduce it back a bit .
The main trunk will be the thick trunk i left, ill carve it at a later stage to reduce its thickness going to have trouble finding a pot for this one being so wide

On our full sized olive tree, we've been getting some crazy amounts of olives this year. Looks like marinated olives will be on the menu a lot this year!

This olive has shot well may start to train it has heaps of branches to chose from now

Did some training on this tree took a bit of so hoping i get a flush of new shoots which will give me more trunks to chose from looking at doing a large windswept raft design with a lot ot of dead wood the thick trunk will be the main trunk i think so for now ill focus on the trunks an just let them grow for now next spring ill make a grow box for it to grow it on

7 weeks later an it well on its way has grown a lot from last picture the plan right now is to let it grow big an stong need a lot of size on them trunks going for a huge wind swepted raft lots of jins an shari . Hopeing to get to look like its been growing on a cliff top for 100s of yrs

Man how do you get thaaat growth in 7 weeks!?

Lots of sun all my tree get full sun water when needed plus seasol every 2 weeks an powerfeed if i think they have slowed down a bit. Have noticed tho on the really hot days they dont do as well so a little shade on them days will be a good thing bonsai area is coming a long put up the fence this week i hope then the big wrought iron gate an go from there hopeing to have it ready for trees in spring will be able to shade trees next summer if needed

Got busy today an potted this tree up into its new grow box i made the other day ill let it grow free now maybe a little bending here an there its a big raft the pot it is in is 99cm long its going to be a big tree but well worth it 10yrs to go on this one

the mix i used for this tree is 25% crushed river pebbles 75% potting mix with a layer of crushed river pebbles on the bottom of grow box. Did two olives a while ago with a 60-40 mix they have done ok so trying one with less gravel to compare the two
Its got room for a good 2 yrs growing in this pot im hoping for as it needs to grow alot

love it mate!!! going to be a top raft when its 'done'. You really do have some fantastic olive yamadori in the yard. One question.... Have you got any BUT olives in your collection?

I was out in the camden/cobbitty area SW of Sydney over the weekend and had the itch grab some more myself. They are literally everywhere down there and classed as a pest in the region. I've got two from there now but I see more in my future
