Thanks for the tips. I will dry this pot slow and maybe even do it slower than I normally do as it is bigger than I usually do. Another potter has suggested using damp newspaper to slow the drying even more.
As usual I have a varied peer group when it comes to pottery. And it is the same guy my mate Pol that throws the biggest spanner in the works. The ladies that first taught me had me do everything nice and slow. Then Pol started doing Pottery again and he would bash and punch a pot out in 5 minutes and pop it on the shelf drying in full air

I am glad I took the time to learn to get a pot straight first and also glad that there is more than one way.
