Howdy i like this this tree have a idea of what you could do with this one ill try to post picture soon

Here is a quick drawing i would all so carve the main trunk so it pokes out the top of the foliage . I can see alot of other branches that could be use full as well but hard to see with this picture its a great tree tho would like it my self cant wait till it shoots keep the updates coming on this one please

Hey Wyatt,

Still not 100% sure what to do with this one, but I see the bottom two big right hand branches being used to create foliage patches, another patch on the main trunk, and a balancing bit on the small left hand branch. Not sure yet how it will pan out as it depends on what grows and what doesn't. Time will tell. Here's another pic taken today - slowly getting it potted. Had to make the pot from wood as I couldn't find a big enough plastic container. I also think that this may actually be better as I can remove one side when it needs repotting and the tree stays upright on its brick supports. This means it will not need to be physically lifted like my other bog olive will!

The photo below is of the back side of the tree.

This is a photo of the other one for comparison. It will definitely be more difficult to repot.

Well,

Just thought I'd let y'all know that Wyatt is budding all over the show, and importantly, he's going on the ends of all the branches!!! Yay! = loads of design options!

I also thought I'd pop up a few images of other olives that have just come out of the ground and been potted up, or will be shortly . . . .

First is one clump that came out in a recent dig . . . . Gonna make a forest out of it.

This one came out of the same clump. I thought it could potentially make a ripper Robert Steven'esque semi cascade out of it

And then this one which came out of a different dig. It had a massive rock in the base which I carried down the mountain! When I got it down and my buddies pointed it out, I hammered it out in a fit of rage (at getting a bruised shoulder), but in hind sight, I should have left it in there! FAIL! The up side is that the tree has fantastic movement!

Do you have a rough estimate as to how old the tree is???

Be interesting to see where you go with it.

No idea mate. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say somewhere between 400 and 750 years old, but that's a guess. Don't know how to tell either.

I think it is about 40cms at the widest part of the flare where I chainsawed it. The thickest trunk is about 12cms at it's widest point.

The forest and semi cascade are going to look brilliant, cant wait to see them styled. Very fitting name too, certifiably olive crazy. And its catching

Yeah olives are overlooked by many pictures in this post just shows the variety that is avaliable from monster to smaller ones
i didnt realy look at the semi cascade olive got distracted by the forest they are both wild looking things wish i found them

Stunning stumps. i dont think we would get trunks like that in OZ yet as we have not had them around long enough to develop that sort of age.
