Updated Pics this morning wshowing the Oh bugger moment and the new growth that will fix it
the wood on these is extremely brittle and impossible to bend, so if you need a branch somewhere, do it when it very young and has not lignified. Even then they are still prone to break.
At least now I will have some better taper in the upper section of the tree and when it grows and fills out in width it shodu look good

I'm learning the brittleness of these branches very fast! Was rearranging some foliage this morning and checking for bugs and such (i have a small bonsai collection so rely on the organic squish method for control) and moved a brach in a direction it didn't want to go and snap! Oops luckily it was small and i probably would have removed it. Ive got a cutting to try now, i hear they're near impossible to strike. Ohh the challenge!
