I'm flipping freezing, it is pouring rain, the week is forecast for cold and rain. In a word - NO, I don't feel spring. Yesterday maybe, but not today.

Still no spring at Yackandandah either. -4 every night last week and cold, wet and windy all day today! Some things flowering but they are all normal autumn/winter flowering plants. - autumn/winter gladioli, plenty of natives, wintersweet, witch hazel, etc.
Anth, re daphne-
The showy rounded heads of small flowers open from mid-winter to late spring, depending on the species,
so that would just about make it daphne season now?

Hi Guys , Daphne is beautiful right now, but my wife won't let me touch it .Its hers and i'm too young to die . I went for a walk yesterday and bugger me the Wattle is beginning to turn , very very unusual this time of year .There is a strong hit of yellow on the budding blossoms , i will get a pic of it . Like Shibui said it bloody cold and wet here too -3-4-5 earlier and i usually don't cop the frost , its burnt a lot of my material . Thats life in the country .

Cheers Alpine.

Seems that we are having an early start to spring here to ...all the deciduous trees are coming into bud and some have produced their first leaves
Ficus are budding all over the place and my swampy sticks are also pushing new growth up and down the trunks :tu:
Cheers

Well I don't know what it's like where you are but we are having what can only be called unseasonal rains ...it has been raining now for days and some very heavy falls to
The big mango tree out the back is in flower but if we get any winds that blow them off we won't be getting any mango's again

Some trees in my garden definately think spring is on the way.....

I have a chinese Quince that has almost totally come out into leaf and then chinese elms and Tridents that are beginning to bud out. Strange. Looks like a fair bit of early re-potting this year.

Starting to look a bit warmer in my yard, not quite there yet for repotting, but two more weeks and it begins.

KC I have a Hibiscus in flower also :lost:

So we both have Azalea in flower and Hibiscus in flower. Theres a few km between our yards but they seem in tandem this year.

Good thing I started the repotting a while ago. Still quite a few to do.
