sorry let me redo ,

shindeshojo is the little bright red spring growth going darker greenred later , fine delicate stems ,

i would say the large leaf purplered hairy new leaves as defintily A palm atropurpureum if its an old one , hairy new leaves are a physical attritube of this type , not burgundy lace , leaves are not lacy enough

I have over 30 differnt maple typles currently , i was lucky last yr in USA picked up a maple ident book , absolutely best book ever , great pics of evrything and descriptions . was able to ident/ confirm 3 maples i had that were very unusual , unlabelled of course but couldnt find anything here bookwise that quite fit . had my suspicions but just not good enough pics and info .

cheers eyleene

Thanks Eyleene. We'll keep an eye on it and see how it changes colour through the year.

Cheers,
