Hi All.
Such an awesome night!!! Thanks to everyone who attended. Lots of great trees and great bargains. Very happy seller's and buyers. I have the camera from the night but haven't downloaded the photos yet and don't know what was taken. Will hopefully go through it tonight.

The auctioneer did a great job as well and being a bonsai enthusiast himself, he kept the room lively and active, especially after just having a car accident!!!!

There was some fierce biding over some quality trees especially the finale of the night in a QV hawthorn.

Thanks again everyone. Will post pics when I can.

David

:hooray: I got a chinese elm that I'm really happy with. It was worth the trip down to see all the high quality bonsai. The friends I brought along were also very impressed. :tu:

Have to agree, it was a great night with some excellent rees up for sale. Some were sold at very reasonable prices. I came home with an Irish strawberry tree :palm: There were some really nice elms with rocks done by Hong that were exceptional. It was a credit to the organisers and growers for the quality of trees offered.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay in getting photos up of the night. All the photos are greater the 1MB is size and I haven't got my re-sizing software with me. Once Mak (hint hint :) ), uploads the photos to our website I will grab them from there.

It was easily the best quality auction we have had. Thanks to everyone coming out to support us.

Fantastic! Some of your auction trees are better than some of the trees at local shows :lost: I would love to see your club's show or exhibition. :hooray:

Looks like a great night!

Once again Melbourne leading the way in Australian Bonsai.

I particularly like number 46 the small trident on the rock, what did that one go for?

Did everything sell, were their reserves etc?

Thanks Scott.

Even though I was recording all the results I can't remember exactly how much the trident went for. :( I think its reserve was probably the $150 mark but I recall it went over the $200 mark at auction

Probably 50 of 70 items sold and the ones that didn't had high reserves. Majority of items had reserves but they were very low.

The large hawthorn took top honours on the night selling at $900. Well worth it and would be more the triple that retailing anywhere.

Thanks
David
