Nice rootage on that one of yours Pup. One of the problems where I am is "cherry slug" which attacks the leaves but I have been a bit better with my spray program this season and it has shown results.

Nice structure Gerard. I have never fully defoliated a plum so I am unsure if that would be effective. In my area it might be a bit late in the season to try now?

This little one is a "Fruiting Plum" ( Ray nesci does not know any more than that), that is an airlayer from a tree base that di not survive.

Was layered last year and is now start to grow quite well.
It will stay a small Shohin size

Yes I have 2 of them
A smaller one that has only just kicked on this year, and another that was a connected root / Raft Style. It is in a large Poly box that i cannot Get out at the moment too many other trees around it.
I will be repotting them this winter to see what they are up to

This is my ratty P. cerasifera in October - it decided to go mad, and had one plum for each leaf, I think.

I'm trying wood ash with my orchard cherry trees and have Confidor waiting in the wings should the wood ash prove ineffective, but those options are only advice from books, easily overruled by experience of what works in the Tablelands. What spray do you use for cherry slugs, Watto?

Beautiful tree Jarrod and a great thread Watto.
Always good to see some not so prominent species as bonsai.

IMO I love fruit on Bonsai.
Especially some smaller varieties which plum can indeed provide..
Yes it often doesn't look 100% in proportion but it does deliver a great deal of interest.
At the end of the day this (interest) is what I believe we try and achieve with our trees!?

Jan - I use Confidor. I find it effective so unless someone recommends something better I will probably stick with it.
Gavin, - I intend to eat a few of mine too but they are a week or two off yet. The green gage plum turns yellow as they are ready to be picked.
