Hey Macros thats a great tree. You said you where looking for a tree upto $500 was that the case with this one?
I too am on the hunt for my Birthday tree this year being my 40th I was thinking I should mark it with an established tree as I have never bought one like that before.
The budget I am giving myself is a little more at about $1000 but I think I would go to $2000 for the right tree.
I might have to start another thread in the near future

Hey Mac
I found this nice little gem at Bonsai art in Moorrabbin on Old Dandenong Rd Melbourne, The quality of stock there was amazing. And the small display they had was quite inspiring as well. If you have half a day to waste, and a few dollars to depart with its an idear to drop in some time.
Its funny you should mention that cos I have that exact mission planned this Saturday. After lunch I'm hitting Williams, Bonsai Art and then Garden world. Hope I can fit it all within 4 hours.
So thanks for confirming its well worth it.

hey guys,
sorry about the late reply, i've had some IT issues! This tree I got was under my $500 mark, wich left me with a little extra to stock up on some tools
wich have been also much needed.
I hope you all found what you were looking for
Regards
Mac

I reckon instead of one $500 tree I'd look for 6 or 7 or 10 mature starter trees of different varieties---much more fun to play with.and would fill in a couple of gaps in my collection caused by my" killing with kindness" phase.
