I would be careful about using raw coir on sensitive speceis. Depending on where it comes from, it can have very high concentrations of salt (NaCl). To grind the husks, they need to be wet and sometimes they are soaked in seawater!!
To be a bit safer, I would recommend soaking in water until they sink (which will take a few days) and re-rinse a couple of times. Even better if you can plan a year ahead and age the material moist for a few months as it has been known to contain phytotoxins due to the raw green husks being processed.
It also has very high concentrations of potassium, sometimes to the point to where it can interfere with magnesium uptake.
Just a couple of things to be aware of!
