Hello Gavin, well it has been a month now, and I thought it would be further advanced than it is, but here it is any way.
The Callistemon Kings Park special that is, It could be a Melaleuca though?.
Also an Azalea that some of the aficionados, could name for me, as I have lost the tag, this is one of my sticks in a pot.

Cheers Pup

Beautiful tree Pup, cannot get enough of your natives! Am always going through your old posts for inspiration. Maybe we should just call it a Melalistemon?

Could I ask if the yellow tips on the end of the flowers are on all Calli's? Or just certain species? We've got two big ones out the front (different species), but neither had the yellow tips, however the one I've got in a grow pot, does have the yellow tips. My one was marked as a Calli MacArthur :)

Hi Jason I am not a Botanist, but all of the trees I have seen localy and all of the pictures I have in my books show 98 percent of them with the yellow stamens.

So I would say that is the normal.

Cheers mate Pup.

Thanks Pup, damn fine Calli/Mel indeed. I quite like it as it is, with half flowers, half buds - tells the full story.

Do you find the Kunzeas as robust as Callis? Or are you a bit more careful?

Thanks for posting.

Gavin

Hi Pup,

Great pictures of great trees....as always! We love the Kunzea - ours is only in white and we agree with GavinG about your Calli/Mel.

:imo: Your Azalea is a Satsuki 'Chinzan' - got a few of them, but Arthur or Susie should be able to tell you exactly what it is!

Regards to your good lady, cheers

Maybe Osakazuki? The flower looks larger than Chinzan. They are similiar. I think Chinzan is a sport of Osakazuki?!?

Sorry maple ;)

You're right 'Chinzan' is a modification of 'Osakazuki', but it is overall a bid lighter than 'Osakazuki', the leaves are similar .... got that one as well

Could be 'Kazan' as well :?: which is another modification of 'Osakazuki'! Hard to say by just looking at a picture :reading: without having the tree in front of you!

See you Sunday Maple!

Cheers, R&M

P.S. Hope you're not too confused Pup! :lost: :palm:
