Hiyo,
I have seen Juniper Sabina in books and it is talked about as worthy by many bonsaists so don't worry about the comments mate!
Cheers,
Brad.

Hi Jason,
Mate do not get to concerned about negative or misleading comments. If you can see something in it do it the old saying goes 'can't see the tree for the forest'. Check out the species as bonsais and go from there. I think your on the right track, development with junis can be slow and rewarding process, keep going looking good.
Cheers Rod

Ps Jason,
Adult and juvenile foliage are common at the same time and mature foliage will eventually take over. If you do heavy pruning juvenile foliage will come through and will mature, alls good!!!!
Cheers Rod

Hi Jason,
You have done a great job with laying the foundation for a lovely little tree and one that you should be happy about. I look forward to following its progression from here.
Cheers
David

Check out Graham Potter's vids on youtube. He has done some work on a couple of Sabina's. I reckon they are pretty good stock to play with.

Hi Jason , mate it good to see you didn't take the advice given . Many a clubby or wannabe guru can give advice based on their learned skills , your skill has just outshined their limited imagination .
Life a learning journey , so keep on your path and they will soon be learning from you . They too are often teachable if they have an open mind.
Cheers Alpineart

Well stated alpineart. Imagination and vision are progress. The more I looked at your tree Jason the more I like what you are doing, great work mate.
Cheers Rod

Thanks a lot for the encouragement guys, I'm really glad I didn't just give up on it now. I went from being so bummed about this tree and ready to push it to the back of the bench to be forgotten, to now being quite chuffed with the potential in it. Its kind of lighted a stubborn fire under me now, where I'm bit determined to turn it into a great bonsai

I like the styling you have done Jason. Good movement and branch placement. Regardless whether it is a good species or not, it has still given you good styling experience
Regards,
Steven

Sounds to me like the makings of a great Bonsai artist

Keep that fire burning and dont let it go out like so many people do.
