Try a spray of Eco Oil every two weeks.

Tree is all good now it must have been black scale,
Hit it with pest oil a few times and sorted the little buggers out :tounge:

And the drama with this tree continues....
Done some heavy pruning and restyling of this tree, applied cut paste on all cuts but it has this black stuff on the cut site ???
Is it some sort of fungus ?
None of my trees have given me grief like this one :palm:

Hi Stocaz,

Looks like mould to me; probably because your cut paste is made of flour base. Just scrape it off and apply vinegar 50ml/500ml water. Should solve the problem.

yeah same cut paste I have always used, hasn't done that on any other trees.

Looks like mould. The vinegar/water mix will get rid of it.
Is the tree getting any breeze where it is? It might need to move to get air through the canopy so mould is less likely to grow.Full sun will help kill mould but would depend on how heavily you worked the tree with the cuts for the first few weeks.
