Please don't even try to get a good taper on your Eucalyptus. It is unnatural for them. They respond well to being grown in a more "natural style".
For inspiration have a look at those growing naturally around you.

Once the tree recovers, I will have to come to one of your wednesday night classes so we can discuss my ne one "In the flesh".

Nice score Mitchell
There are pots of Gold there that are Begging to be Collected and cared for.
When they shut up for good, all the remaining stock will be going to a nursery up in Newcastle to Sell off. Do not know which one but many of the trees left in the ground will be left onsite for the buldozers no doubt.

The first looks like Mal Linariifolia and the second is possibly Cal Citrinus or could be just a Cal Viminalis...I'd need a more detailed look at the foliage.Mitchell wrote:I'm just guessing the species, any Id's feel free, I'd like to know what they are.

Re: Riverview Nursery - West Ryde NSW
nice map.
I am coming up to Sydney on Sunday so maybe I should have a look.
Funny thing is I used to live in Atkins St Ermington, just 500 mtrs away.
I am doing a nursery crawl on Sunday! Megumis first, then everyone else.

Re: Riverview Nursery - West Ryde NSW
With your eye mate, your bound to find something!
Lots of 200mm pots that had natives in them, took root and exploded. They are somewhat dwarfed as the weed matting laid over the whole yard let the fine roots penetrate, but tourniquet-ed them once they got to 25mm.
The owner is happy to lend an axe to get them out, I preferred my saw and clippers.
Great sandy soft non-compacted soil under-neath, so easy to get out.
I have my eye on a 25m elm down around the "Bonsai booty" area. About a foot across the trunk.
Anyone interested in a team effort? I can't make weekends, but if anyone is free on tuesday/wednesday next week and is looking for big 2/4 man material PM me. I'm sure with atleast two of us there, to get rid of some scrub, we can find some incredible bases.
Anyone got a ?
