Not sure if you can be notified of any change, but there is an easy way to see any recent changes. When you log in, in the navigation on the left of the screen there is a link to
Recent Changes. There you can specify how many changes and how many days changes to display.
Also, I suppose entry requires a post stating so, so put me on the list for Category 2. I might pick an article for Category 1 as well, but not sure on that yet. I'll post again if I decide to do so.

Mostly on how to tackle the transition from seedling to prebonsai.
I don't intend to cover seed germination ( too vast and too many seed species ) and I don't expect to have a complete from seed to bonsai ( I'm too new to have one like that ) but a seedling to prebonsai I could cover!
Will be hitting this lil guy :

the easiest way I ahve found is to look at the "recent Changes" view that Lack has posted.
I check this every as part of my regular checks and see what has changed or user account been created.
You can "watch a page" so you monitor a particular one for changes. View the relevant page and then up the top, next "read, Edit, View history tabs, pull down the arrow and select "Watch".
this will setup monitoring on the page and you should be notified of changes to it.

I can't give an official ruling, but my personal feeling is that it should be fine. Since we have to state what topic we are officially writing up, and once named the topic is yours, it's not like there would be competing articles on the same topic. Lots of info on the wiki is pulled from the forums, with effort to give credit to the original posts. I don't see how this would be any different, and pulling knowledge from more sources should only improve the quality for everyone.

Absolutely you can.
To me it matters not where the info comes from, just that it is compiled in the wiki as a Concise and easily read article. many of the articles and pages are content been pulled from Ausbonsai threads ( and they reference back to them) or discussions with other members.
For me if a few people can provide input on and article ( so long they do not get into an argument

) then all the better for the accuracy of the result

Seeing some more action in the recent changes today. Exciting! Wait, I mean stop helping so I can win!

In all seriousness, it's great to see things being added, regardless of who wins. Props to all who are working at it, and to those who are on the fence still, get involved! It's fun and pretty easy too.
Also, just wanted to point out that if anybody is helping update the species info, at the bottom of the list of species, there is a template so we can keep the formats mostly the same which should help with readability. Looks like so far those working on the list have found it, but wanted to share for others.
Wiki is growing by leaps and bounds now, fun to see the community grow and increase access to all this great information for all.

So I've decided to do a comprehensive eucalyptus species guide as my category 1 article. Lots of research and compiling to do, but I'm loving them more and more, and it will be worth it to have all the info compiled into one spot. Probably create a thread soon to ask for info for those that want to contribute, or maybe sending some PMs. Or both. The more info, the better!

Its done in two stages:
1. Upload your image
This is done via the "Upload file" in the left menu.
Keep the name of the img in mind.
ex. name_of_img.jpg
2. Add your image into your article
Edit your article and place the followin tag :
Edited to add more info links:
Link on good naming practices :
