thanks banksia, these are the first ive collected so all new for me. yep that is a hyrdrolic base from a hairdressers chair.

here's my virt; the styling of this configuration can go many ways. build one big helmet canopy or many articulated pads, which will turn into a helmet if not kept in line.

that is a monster compared to what iv been collecting
* think i may have to start bringing home some big mothers like yours
i find mine do a bit better in the shade than the sun just for the first month and a half

I can feel these are great starts. Under your custodianship I think they will turn out great.
Keep good documentations, we never know, one day AusBonsai might do a publication, and

I collected some about a month ago, and they seem to be doing really well
i too had the problem when i lifted them the fibrous roots broke off really easily
i did collect a few a couple of years ago, which could of been closer to summer - 9 out of 10 survived
