being completely honest, I quite like how it turned out
but
I agree it needs a larger pot
and
I'd lose the lower branches (all of them) and go with the new apex as it is all this tree now needs

The new pot looks heaps better.

The pot probably needs to go in a grow bed for a couple of years and it would be perfect [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

I agree that the bone on bone looks very dramatic and adds a whole new level of dynamism to the tree when it is naked. Perhaps one size larger would be ideal, but we must make do with what we have and this looks pretty good Watty. Well done.

I love the new pot and look and that includes the lower branch.
for me it would look silly without the lower branch

Happ Australia Day Long Weekend??

Had a little trip to Brissie back earlier this year when the buy/swap was on at the Sunshine Coast.
I went to Australian Bonsai Grower and found this pot, knowing the tree to suit I was patient (OMG!! I hear you say) and waited to put this tree and pot together. A little deeper but shape and colour similar so back in August, defoliation and a re-pot.
