well done tee! my only advice is that you wait to do low jins later rather than sooner so as to use the bottom branches as sacrafices and fatten up the base's. yeah i know ya were hangn to style that baby.

Thats better but to improve it even more bring mum up a bit with a slight twisting to the left (anti clockwise ) gently though.
Because if it is to violent you will seperate the cambium layer and you do not want that to happen.

The new one would have made a very decent Shohin. Next time you work on one like this think about that.
Also if you leave lower branches you are going to JIn they will fatten up the trunk.

Thanks Ant, yeah I use sacrifices all the time, some 50% of everything I've got has a sacrifice here or there but, as you said, I just couldn't wait.

For me, these have been a cheap thrill, something to get right into without all the damn waiting. Sooner or later they'll probably end up as cheap gifts as well.
