Well here she is guys.....
I ended up getting it powder coated. So you could store this at the bottom of the ocean and it won't rust. By the time I bought all the stuff for painting and priming and factored in my time and lack of brush painting skills. Powder coating was a better option. The guy only charged me 100 dollars....
In hindsight it's probably a bit high. I'm 6'2" and I'm looking up into the apex of trees over 60 cms so that's not ideal. Especially for anyone shorter than me! I don't know why I went with 1.2 meters but what's done is done. It's great for shohins.
I might consider shorting it soon but I'm reluctant to cut into gal and powder coating.
The other problem is people with a step ladder on the other side of the wall!

Too high, may be but looks a bit short - 2 trees are @ Ground Zero! Or was this a prototype?

Looking great Island.
Only 100 clams for the powder coating?! What a score.
I love that you made the frame fit around the timber panels rather than just have the exposed edges on the ends, makes for a much nicer finish IMO.
I agree possibly slightly high, but as you already have some that won't fit on the table why not make one a bit lower to run along side it? Then you can have the high one for shohin, and low for the others finishing at roughly the same height.
Great job mate and love the progression thread of the making of it. It's nice to see some people venturing past just timber (unfortionatly I don't have the skills to haha)

Make another one @ 900mm tall fore the larger trees and use this one for Shohin

Yeah I think I'm definitely going to have make a second one!
I thought the powder coating was a steal too... The place is called APC in Banksmeadow Sydney if anyone ever wants stuff done. They were great to deal with....
