I've got the wheely bins of Kanuma strapped in to the van ready for Saturday. Remember first come first served.( One bag per size maximum. I have fine, medium fine and medium to get rid of)

I will have the 3 smallest J Black pine of the 32 I bought last year; they are healthy and partially worked now. 2 are in 8" pots and one in a bigger terra cotta pot.

I will also have 2 of the biggest and best of the 32 for sale. Nice big well worked Literati style.

Plus copper wire, turntables, a mixture of Japanese and Australian pots for sale as well.

and I'll have about a dozen trees ranging from a large, clump style, collected fig down to a nicely shaped prunus in a plastic pot

along with a few more figs, chinese elms, a very old crabapple growing from a rock and an Arizona Cypress

I'll be there selling a few trees as well, all mine are in pots (bonus). A variety of species, small to medium size, young in age but not starters.

Prices will be $30-$50, I may take along a largish fig in a pot for $80, if I have room in the Commodore wagon.

I will also be there with some Taxodium mucronatum, Lilly pillie, callistemon, figs, Juniper sargentii, J. procumbens. I will also bring some Debco Plugger potting mix (made to the formula of a well known bonsai nursery)

Picked up some Kanuma from Grant Bowie today at Sale Day....And YES it was Free...What a Champion...!!! I have a small Satzuki and a Sao Tome...(off the Topic... I asked Grant questions about my Trident Maple and the poor timing on my part of trunk chopping way to early) Well anyway, I forgot to ask about how to use Kanuma for Azalea's... Do I mix the Kanuma through my normal Bonsai Mix or do I use it on its own...? I didnt' realise how light kanuma is and its pretty brittle, crumbles between your fingers, so does it need to be washed or sifted first to remove all of the fine dust...? Or if it's used on its own, I suppose it would be heavier grade on the bottom, medium on top of that, and then finest grade to finish...Yet if I was to mix some through my soil mix what percentage should I use...?

Sales day. A lot of people commented on the 2 J Black pine but no one bought today.

Kanuma is usually used on its own.

Sift out the dust but do not seive it vigorously as it will keep breaking down finer and finer. Pot up the tree then drench it a number of times to flush out any fines remaining

I haven't mixed it with other soils. Don't know if anyone else has.

I use it on all my azaleas as is, no sifting as I dunk the pot in water several times to fully soak the Kanuma and that washes out the fines without any worry of it breaking up
