Nice tree mate! This angle is my favourite angle.
Do you have a plan to add some texture to the dead wood?

That's coming along really nicely in your care Kez, well done!
Can I suggest a couple of minor tweaks?

I agree with Jarad that some refining of the deadwood would be good. (try saying ''
deadwood would be good'' 10 times really fast).
Where did you purchase it from?
Regards,
Steven

just an update on this little guy
yesterday I spent some time unwiring the tree and doing a very small amount of cleaning, then re wired it.
This tree of all my trees has really taught me a lesson in refinement, every time i work on this tree it moves ahead, slowly, but forwards all the time. The work is not drastic, and nor are the changes, but it is the story of a design maturing, and I feel like this tree has shown me that in a way the none of my other trees have (so far)
It has certainly benefited from the canberra winter, as I have seen stronger growth and maturation of growth already this season that I never saw in the 2 summers I had this tree through in wollongong, but I am still hesitant to remove much foliage, and as such there are some thicker areas of needle then ideal at the moment, but maybe next year I will be more ruthless
It has also been given a new pot,
