I really need a little advice with this tree. I was originally going to remove the beach with the purple cut line.
However lately I've been thinking maybe it is best to cut both off, start bonsais from those cuttings and then let the trunk grow its own sprouts and start again from that

What I have done with most of jade is just cut off a piece, put into a pot, will root in next 2 weeks. :D
They like water, but drought tolerant.

Do not cut both off. to do so will lose the taper between the first and the second section of trunk.
If you removed both you would have to wait another 3-5 years to regrow the second trunk section, then chop and regrow the 3rd section.
As it is now, you already have taper to the 3rd trunk section at least.
