Hi Jonden, just to let you know, I took the tree to the Botanical Gardens Trust office today as they asked me to come back when it was in leaf so they could cut some shoots. They said if they could not identify the tree that they will send the specimens to England for ID. So now we just sit and wait . Could be as long as 3 days or 1 month depending on how busy they are. The corp. clients always get priority as they have to pay for their submissions. For the gen. public it is usually free. Will let you know of results.

Regards

John

Hi Astroboy,
Mine was a tree planted in the garden, I pruned the long straggly growth off each year to keep it in shape and it always had lots of flowers. I have moved house 2 years ago and had another one in a pot, the 1st year it flowered all over,I pruned it back lightly this year and put it in the garden and it didn't have many at all. I think maybe where I had it in a pot it was too shaded, it's now in full sun, so i will see how it flowers next year.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Cheers, Jonden

I wouldn't beat yourself up hey! In my humble opinion the trunk line is lovely, and with those flowers it'll be a looker in a few seasons! :)

Yeah, hi Astroboy, I got a letter from the Botanical Gardens recently and they actually still could'nt figure it out. I now have to wait until next year when it flowers to give them a sample of the leaf "and" the flower. I don't know why they did'nt ask for a flower in the first place when they were on there. Even chopping shoots off did'nt seem to help them.!!
