Sad... Sad...Sad.... Have to work tomorrow & the wife's got me on family duty Sunday. Catching up with friends from interstate. So Sunday's also out of the question for me.. Means I miss out yet another year.
Although I did manage to get up to Ray's today and check out the nursery... Well it's stocked to the hilt... New trees and pots all over... Truly it's chokka's and I envy all of you who'll be attending over the weekend. Ray also mentioned that there will be demonstrations running non-stop for the whole weekend. Ray introduced me to Steven from AB today... Nice to put a face to the name... Just whish I had the chance to have a chat... Well maybe next time. Enjoy to all attending...have aGreat time and buy lots and lots of trees...!!!

Day 1 done an dusted, some Excellent trees on show which I will post soon,

My 2 demos went really well and my Juniper bend was excellent. No crack or breaks that i could hera and feel so going well until peeling the bark from the jins!
The came that ( as pup says) tha "Oh Bugger" moment ! :palm: :crybye:

When you realised that you have just cut and peeled the bark back to before the junction of your main branch, and not after it!!! :palm: :crybye: :x

I suppose that's what happens when you are not paying Full attention ( Concetratin on the talk and not the job) and checking twice before cutting!

Ahh well, Good thing i had a backup plan ready to go into action!

The second demo was just a repot and aft4er winter clean up of my Collected Bougy as shown here viewtopic.php?f=133&t=9917

Great day and met up with a few fromt he forum, so all good.
Ps steven we need to get some more tshirts i think :-) Lots of people were asking about mine, so you may get some PM's

Nice meeting you today Ken. Your demonstrations were great.

Shame about the juniper, but I guess it's all part of the game. Still looks great otherwise.

Word of advice from a student of the sciences, when you were talking about zeolite and it's cation exchange ratio, cation is pronounced "cat-ion" as in a positively charged ion, not "cay-shun". Other than that, your science all sounded good!

OK some photos ofd he show trees for your enjoyment

Please see my Gallery for all of the pictures of all of the trees
We had quite a few natives on display too which is really nice to see.

ps, The opaque shelter at rays, really screws up the colour balance of my camera and is really hard to work out as the light is so different around the areas :crybye:
