In the photos I would say the unglazed pots come up true to the feel and look of the pots in the hand. It shows the workmanship and feeling of the clay etc.

The glazed pots look a little washed out but in the flesh they look and feel very nice.

Not sure about the comment about industrial looking but if it is meant that they are a well produced, consistent product then I would agree. That doesn't mean they are not a nice piece of the art of pottery making itself. If it is meant they are nothing special then I would disagree; but as always everything is in the eye of the beholder and no one is wrong; as it is an opinion and everyone is welcome to one.

Bonsai pots are mostly made for a purpose; i.e. to have a tree in them. But of course they are a very important part of the overall work of art that is Bonsai; but equally they can be and are admired on their own.

I love Bigei pots. Just wish he'd make a few a bit bigger. Most that I have seen have been for mame and small shohin trees. I'be clicked on quite a few on eBay only to be disappointed in their small size.

I have some coming by post that are a bit bigger. I should have some of them for sale at the Ausbonsai sale day in March if there is one.

They are all round however. You are right in that most of the pots he makes are quite small but highly worked. I love the ones withe the woven look on the side panels.

I was referring to the very sleek, modern, almost metallic look of them. My wife watches a lot of interior design shows and I'm forced to endure them, thus I was using this same idea. If you google 'industrial interior design', you can see a few images of the idea I was conveying. It was a compliment, Grant.

I must admit I don't watch ant interior design shows so i missed the meaning.

The finish of the Bigei pots is slightly different to anything else I have ever seen; new or old. They sort of look old and new at the same time.
