Again thanks for the feedback,

It was dug from the garden around 2005 and in a Bonsai pot from 2007. It ended up with die-back on one side of the trunk.

Once established in the original black plastic pot I re potted into a Bonsai pot after flowering. I now re pot every 2 to 3 years.

Fertilize with osmacote.

Regards,

Peter

Well... I gotta say....that's a seriously hard act to follow so I'm just going to show you mine flowering and bring down the average so everyone else can join in. :worship:
A fair bit of wire bite that got there a lot damn quicker than its taking to grow out but I just love the fact that she gives me something back each year. This year looks like its going to be a good year for flowers on this tree.

Hi PeterH,
Managed to get a pot large enough for mine this weekend 630mm x 430mm x 120mm deep. Not sure it is deep enough? It is currently in full bloom so looking to bonsai pot this August. May I ask what type of mix you are using? The pot understandably is a bit heavy. I was wondering if I could do equal portions Kanuma/Acadama/Pine Bark. Any thoughts? Anyone else have any experience with Camellia. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Cheers
Kirky

If weight is a problem, you might like to base your mix around diatomite. I've never had any problems with camellias in my usual mix - 50/50 diatomite(pumice, grit) and potting mix.

Hi GavinG, missed your reply. Thanks for the info. I will go with the Kanuma which is light and will give them a bit of acid as well your suggestion of diatomite and pumice. That should make things lighter. What is your feeding regime with this mix?
Cheers

Osmocote in the mix, Miraclegro or similar every few weeks. I should use something like MoreBloom, specific flowering ferts from late summer onwards, but I'm too slack.

Thanks Gavin, Osmocote thats a great idea always a good back up for us slackers. Pitty they don't make one for more blooms. I always forget to feed my Wisteria until the leave drop off. Then its too late. Not expecting too much of a show this year. :palm:
