Been awhile since I've updated.

Here's the progress.

So I came to the conclusion that my Pyracantha had 'graduated' from LED indoor lighting and was time to embrace the sun outside.

The factors that drew me to this conclusion was it's crazy height, overall health and green glow.

Anyway... about 3 weeks into being outside it almost burnt to a crisp.

Going from this picture I have since cut it about half-way to help it recover. it's been 2 weeks... still not seeing much sign of recovery.

Still greenish under the cambium... I guess the plant is just in a state of shock.

Kind of sad that a bit too much sun can do this. Do bonsai die from sun-over exposure? Opinions on if you think it'll recover?

I water every second day. Depending it if rains or not and general soil dampness.

I will be bringing it with me to my new place which is morning-only sun on a balcony eventually.

They don't usually die from moving into the sun. Leaves that are not used to sun get burnt but most plants just produce new leaves that will become hardy to the conditions and should be sun tolerant.
It can sometimes take 3-4 weeks for new shoots to grow so be patient. You have done the right things so far.

On a side note, I wired and root pruned some of the pyracantha seedlings that germinated in my pots. All the larger ones have died - probably from the bends I put in them but possible they just don't like severe root pruning. Enough still alive to go on with but I might be more careful if there's a next time.

Hello again,

I haven't seen much progress... if any at all...

Kind of a sad ending? (Potentially)

I have taken some pictures of the current status close up.

Is it too far gone? I don't see any green under it's skin... But the plant is still flexible, the roots aren't rotten either.

After the pictures I took more leaves off... They weren't exactly falling off... some had to be pulled off.

Strange.
