Since the last competition ended I made a few minor changes. Decided to turn the tree 180 degrees for a more dynamic front and let a shoot run at the apex to add some taper and heal the wound. I will let it grow all winter then cut back and rewire in the spring. Need to move the first branch across as it is obscuring the view of the trunk. Currently the height is 350mm

No work done, just letting it happily grow through Winter. All the figs have dropped and its been growing well the past few weeks. Will let it go another month before cutting back and re-wiring it again.

A light trim all over today and axed the sacrifice at the top. More work on the apex when growth fills out again.

Hasn't been a lot of growth on this one, my fertiliser regime has been pretty non existent the last few months. Time for a repot...

I've done another 180 to come full circle now, back to the original front. Just seemed to have a nicer taper and movement. Looking at the photo I'm not happy with the apex area, need to get more movement in general. Defoliated to kick it into gear, lets see how it looks in 4 weeks :fc:

Jeremy cracker tree. What a change it has made over the last few years. Have you thought about taking off the top right Branch and making the left the apex. Looks great as it is don't get me wrong

Anything is possible at this stage. The apex bothers me as its quite rigid and the branching is coarse. If I get a sprout on the top of the left branch I will certainly begin developing it. That would sit the apex closer to the centre of the trunk. I suspect no back budding will occur until this competition is finished
