Dont know what the fuss is all about. Its all the same metric system.

Im an aircraft engineer and we use mm and cm all the time. Maybe its people inability to convert cm to mm.

We only use mm and m (all lowercase) in engineering.

Yep. I don't understand all this cm hatred either.

We had the same discussion when I was studying physics and the lecturer said he didn't care either way. 100cm, 1000mm or 1m, as long as you put the unit prefix it is irrelevant. 60 seconds or 1 minute its all the same. Everyone is right.

For those that hate the cm unit prefix so much, would you prefer to tell people your height in mm? Or do you ironically tell people your height is 5 foot 11, which is a wonderful unit of measure
centi means 1/100th
milli means 1/1000th
micro means 1/1000,000th

They were all invented to make the use of long numbers easier with these abbreviations.

Don't hate the cm, its just trying to help.

Wow. Do you not see the irony in posting a rant about those posting "a discussion members have on the benefits of the metric system". May I suggest if it offends you, don't read it or don't post abuse if you aren't interested in the topic.
Yes he posted a request for a pot, and like a democratic society members engaged in a discussion.
If you don't like discussions, perhaps a forum where you discuss opinions isn't what you want.

1/16th, 1/8th, 1/2, inch, Feet ( 12 inches), Yard (3 feet), 1 chain ( 22 yards), 1mile (80 Chains or 5280 fee).

Which ever system you use, there is nothing worse than buying drill bits in the wrong one and not finding out until you get to work to use them... I was a tradie and purchased some very expensive bits, let's just say I now know both systems

Sorry Alan unfortunately I can't help with the pot, but if you do find somewhere in Melbourne it would be great if you could share it for future reference.

Bonsai World at Jilliby, NSW central coast will definitely have the pot size you are after, but its about a 10 hour drive I'd say?

Sometimes they travel to different shows, so you don't have anything to lose by ringing them up.

I used to design Printed Circuit boards and there we used to work in 1000th's of an inch Weird thing was that they were not 1024th's of an inch

As stated earlier i have several large pots at that size. Alan doesnt appear to have responded and i hope we have not confused him

I used to work in Mitre 10 and had a lady come in and ask for a piece of timber 6 foot and 11cm long. I looked at her funny and she said that was the closest measurement she could find. I had to look at my tape measure to work out what she meant.

Alan, have you tried Tien at bonaisensation Narre warren, he sometimes has big pots.
