Agree with shibui and John.

There are endless possibilities to what you can do with display tables. :)

Re photoshop, thanks peterb. :)

Cheers all :)
I agree with your design Mel and it appeared to me once the base stand was complete. Unfortunately don't have any more of the timber so I'm stuck with what I've made...
Think I'm gonna run with the first idea still and just round the base edges.

Love hearing all your feed back for my next designs!!

Cheers,
Ben

All of the stand design options shown look fantastic in my opinion. Different styles would suit different trees.
I just want to know when you have another one ready built to post to me?!

Managed to find some spare time to finish this and I'm quite happy with the result!
Photos don't do it justice but it has a really nice visual weight to it compared to the other stands I've made.
The stain is a little darker than I would have liked and I need to work on my finishing skills... Quite the challenge on such small pieces

Well done Ben. Definitely better that way up (and no need to worry about the chips on the underside ;) )
The routed edge that lifts the top above the base looks really elegant.
I'm just working on a slightly larger one and I'm going to try something similar - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :D

Love it and I agree with Shibui. I prefer the darker colour as it appears to add some age (optically).

nice work and I very much like the "suspended look of the top of the table

the dark stain also looks nice to me as well :-)
