Just got the reply back from the Importer & Robert Steven has stated that it is for "decoration use".
This reply does not confirm or deny the Dragon eye theory thou.

Thanks blacknight,so I guess I was right,I still reckon they look good,but would never buy at that price,as tree man says they just cut things,like my 2 dollar scissors do.

Oh come on! Don't be such a killjoy. After every cut you spin them round your finger. This makes it a revolutionary tool.

And as you deftly flip them upwards to swing them round your finger, just as the warm metal leaves your skin they whisper "I'll be back".

One thing with these new scissors, the curved profile bothers me a bit. When using them in your right hand, the curve goes to the right so if you're cutting a branch pointing to the left they work well because you need to move your hand less but if you are cutting a branch pointing to the right or straight up, you need to adjust your wrist more than normal to cut the branch square on - if that makes sense. If you need to cut a branch which points downward, you either need to bend your wrist further down than normal or turn them upside down.
So what is the point of the curve exactly? I mean what is the benefit? To my mind, unless you are just cutting left pointing branches (if you are right handed) it is less efficient than normal straight scissors. Or am I missing something?

I wonder if this is why Robert's trees are all windswept A?
