The pic of me (I'm the girl) was before it happened and I was slouching and pulling a face because it was cold and rainy. But it was in Central Park, we had a picnic and found a little gazebo to eat in.
When we were in there someone sprinkled flowers on the imagine mosaic, which I thought was lovely and added to the day. No idea who did it. There was a bride entering the park ahead of us shielded by 7 umbrellas so it might have been part of their wedding photo

Congratulations!

You're gonna notice a huge difference in what you can grow in Adelaide, but at least you'll be able to grow some of those pretty autumn colouring trees. :)

I'm not so sure the 3rd one is Nyssa. I think Nyssa has more elongated leaves and should be quite red in autumn however I can't offer any alternative possibilities, sorry.
I do think that Cercis is a far better possibility for the earlier street trees. I'm currently seeing quite a few Cercis flowering in gardens in my area. Seems to have become quite popular as a small garden tree over the past few years.

Congratulations! :tu: Hope your fiance shares or at least tolerates your bonsai interest. Sorry, can't help with the tree ID's. :lost: Have you asked any of the locals?

Thanks everyone! We are very happy. Mr beano tolerates the bonsai but laughed when I suggested the raised vege gardens could fit some planted bonsai in them
