Even old junipers can be wired, their branches are quite forgiving.
My tree was 5 years old when I bought it (according to the label on it)
This was the first Bonsai I bought so the first couple of photos were my first attempts at any sort of styling.
From the first photos to the last it was about 2 months.
I just read a lot and kept searching for inspiration, doesn't take long to get the feel for it.
Be sure to post your progress

After reading the last post I think I might re wire the trunk (thanks for the pointers adge0001 - taken onboard)

bonsaeen wrote:I thought once the tree is that old you can't wire and train it but i was wrong and now after seeing what you have achieved, I am going to start on my juniper. I want to achieve a windswept style with it so let's see.
You can bend old trunks on most trees if you try hard enough. Pines and Junipers especially :-) these thread s below of mine show soem of what can be done, I heve quite a few more that I have not posted :palm:
This juniper shows some idea of what cn be doen with smaller trees to make them even smaller

this thread shows some bending on larger Radiata pines too
viewtopic.php?f=131&t=7125&hilit=bent
And this one is an old Juniper I collected and put some interest in,
viewtopic.php?f=131&t=13919&hilit=bent&start=15
Unfortunately it did not survive a repot the next year :-(
bonsaeen wrote:Also did you use copper or aluminium wire? Thanks
Does not really matter what you use mostly, but copper has better holding power than Alum, but is harder to work with.

thanks for the links kc and thanks ben for the input. I will work on mine now. Also love the idea of drawing lines over a picture to plan how you want to train the tree. Gonna start working on mine so :fc:
