Yes - Grant is right - as long as it is warm - and it should be warm enough for it now - you can cut these right back and root prune very hard (if it needs it) - these will shoot again from all over the place!

Oh - just saw you are in Melbourne - might be best to wait another month before hacking away. You will want the tree to respond quickly to a hard prune. Dont be afraid to fertilise after root pruning either, and get plenty of natural light.

Thank you Jamie111, the thread was very useful. I think i might trim my plant back quite a bit this year remove one or two major branches and see if i can get some good shape happening with the trunk. ill leave him in his pot for now and let him recover from that.
ill post a pic when im done.
