White pines from these nurseries are cultivars grafted onto black pine stock. They will grow cones if left to mature. Put them in a big pot and fertilise like a regular bonsai, dont remove candles in spring, they form female cones at the end of the candle, male cones form below the needles and are usually a little ahead of the females. Because they are cultivars it is difficult to know what the germination rate for the seed will be. It is possible that all the seeds are infertile. However, don't let that stop you from trying. Japanese White pine on there own roots are vary rare here in Aus.

I have just recieved some white pine seeds (pinus parviflora), what is the best way to get them to germinate and when should it be done?
