Gotta admit I am loving this one! I have a juniper that I am struggling to find inspiration with so I find this particularly interesting. Please keep us updated.

Thanks for the kind words folks..
I'm super happy with how it's coming along and i have learnt allot from it..
Can't wait to see how it comes along over the next few seasons.. I will definately have to get it out of the bright blue pot and into something a bit more earthy at some point too.

Yes much better with the bend pulled in.

Thanks Treeman,
i particularly like the birds eye view now, definitely a possible future front once it outgrows its current setting.

Decided to do a bit of work on this one yesterday. First it got a heavy trim to try open up some tertiary branches and move away from the pom pom style pads.

Then I gave it a light restyle to try and make the branch structure a bit more of a feature. Still needs a bit of work but once spring rolls back around it should hopefully all start coming together.ImageImage

Have you considered going full cascade rather than semi?

Hi Pearcy, Its definitely an option iv thought about, but I think it would have made more sense as a full cascade before I tightened the big sweeping bend. Hard to see from a photo but I feel like now it would look very forced and unnatural with movement for the sake of movement.
The only big change I'm considering at the moment would be drastically tightening the second bend as shown, which would bring the canopy into more of a full cascade shape while leaving the trunk more or less as it is.

I really like how you’ve developed this tree Mbunro. Good stuff and the whole thread is helpful because you can see how different ideas are being considered but you are still keeping true to what is in your mind too. I look forward to the next update.
