I have done some reduction in the height of those already but I wont complete it until the foliage has had a chance to recover and the live cadmium sorts itself out after the removal of the live branch.

very nice mate, I think the removal of the upper trunk has taken this tree to the next level. the foliage will be great when it fills out

I think that maybe you could remove some if the foliage on the upper side of the tail. Maybe Jin some of those branches?

Very nice tree. I think you've made some tough but solid choices looking back at where you started.

Have you thought about changing the planting angle? I think it would look great with a little more cascade to it.

This is a lovely improvement to the original tree. IMHO you have done this tree justice and to me the sentimental value has improved even more so now. You have taken something that was special to you and refined and directed it to something that goes to a new beautiful place.

Lovely and I look forward to seeing how this is in a few more years!

Yes I am considering an angle change in several directions so I can bring the foliage closer to the pot .

Buy doing this the foliage pads will change and open up the opportunity for more jins.

Thanks Peter, I noticed after your comment that the branch I was talking about come much further forward than I first thought. That is confirmed more by the new pics.

My first thought was to bend the branch back as in where marked in red so it became a back branch heading back towards the base of the tree so as well as giving depth it would give stout to the image(foliage closer to trunk). But this does seem a bit impossible considering the angle and size of the branch. So I am thinking where this branch is marked in green or even the next branch along. It would take a bit more time to fill out this area and it would also necessitate a flattening of some of the other branches I think.

Wow, as I was panning down over those pic's I came to one and instantly thought, "What a great front that is". Looking down I noticed the pic was actually the back of the tree. Naturally the tail would have to be bent toward the "front", but I really like the look of the apex from that side. Doable or is the trunk to far forward?
