Hard to pick it from a Black Pine in the photo. Maybe the needle length gives something away...

I seem to have lost every picture I have taken of the collection
I thought I rememberd a hawthorn in flower at the opening or was that an Azalea?

It was a crab apple up near the Paperbark group. There was a tall hawthorn on the left as you walked in not in flower.

As a young whipper snapper and a computer buff you have no excuses. Where as an old duffer like my self would have.

hi, Sharing my pictures of interest, i took in the gallery at Canberra on my holiday in May of this year. Unfortunately i dont know whos is whos, even when i enlarged the pictures the name plaques are not clear enough. Looks as though they have grown since your pictures aaron_tas. Cheers!

I could tell you who's trees are who's, but I dont recall who has there tree there anonymously (as there are some). Maybe Asus could check it out whilst he is there and post the names to each picture.

The Melaleuca rhaphiophylla group know as the grumpy old men, was donated by Alf Devine from Western Australia.
Along with 5 others. 3 groups by Arthur Robinson 1 a group of Japanese maples 1 group of Trident maples and 1 group of Beech.
Derek and Sue Oakley donated a single trunk Melaleuca rhaphiophylla and a single trunk Callistemon Captain Cook.

I cant remember the juniper tanuki...

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I have been off the air for a while.
I just picked up some sensational bonsai from Victoria, some very large.. Thanks to all the lenders.
I should have a better photographic situation in a week or so with background and lights. We are flat out preparing for our second Floriade and expect 50,000 people through our door starting in 10 days time.
All 6 of the WA bonsai have been on display for the last couple of months and they are all looking very healthy and are much cherished.
Just had a visit yesterday by a Chinese "Bonsai" Master and yes the only term used was Bonsai.
Anyhow more anothertime. Got to dash. Duty calls.

Thanks for the updates Grant. It is a bit hard to get over again this year so will wait for your Photographs. Keep up the good work and give young Asus a kick up the backside if he does not do as he is told

Hi
Visited the display on Saturday........very impressive!
Photographs that I've seen are good but they don't do justice.
The trees donated / loaned by AusBonsai members are stunning....Pup, Aaron(x 2 & Germaine), Grant and some bloke named Leigh (apologies to anyone I missed).
There are also 2 large JBPs in the ground either side of the entrance to the display donated by Dorothy Koreshoff.
Grant doesn't attend on the weekends (didn't see anyone who was 7' 6") but his volunteer assistants are very knowledgeable & helpful.
Here's a map just in case.
